Bühler has partnered with NapaRoast to add its steam vacuum pasteurization technology to its nut processing.

Steam under partial vacuum enables effective pasteurization at lower temperatures, preserving product quality.

The NapaRoast system achieves more than a 5-log reduction of pathogens in nuts, seeds, & other low-moisture foods.

With this addition, Bühler now offers complete nut processing solutions from sorting to pasteurization and grinding.

The technology eliminates the need for drying steps, minimizing waste, breakage, and product changeover time.

NapaRoast lines are installed in over 40 global plants, including in the U.S., Europe, and Africa.

The system supports a wide range of products including whole, chopped, and powdered formats.

Throughput ranges from 1 to 6 tonnes per hour, enabling scalable processing for manufacturers.

Bühler has upgraded its Flavor Creation Research and Training Center in Uzwil to include the new technology.

Customer trials begin in August 2025, with the first training session scheduled for November 4-5.
