Amit Shah Lays Foundation for ₹210 Crore Mother dairy Fruit & Vegetable Processing Plant in Gujarat.

In a significant boost to India’s food processing industry, Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation, Amit Shah, laid the foundation stone for Mother Dairy’s latest ₹210 crore fruit and vegetable processing plant in Gujarat. The plant, located near Vadodara in Itola, will bolster Mother Dairy’s “Safal” brand offerings.

During the ceremony, held as part of the Diamond Jubilee celebrations of the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) in Anand, Gujarat, Shah emphasized the importance of cooperative models in India’s agricultural success. The state-of-the-art plant will process five metric tonnes of fruit pulp per hour and produce two metric tonnes of french fries per hour.

This expansion highlights Mother Dairy’s commitment to enhancing food processing infrastructure in India and promoting the ‘Make in India’ initiative. With the demand for processed fruits and vegetables growing, this facility will play a key role in meeting domestic and export requirements. The output will be marketed under the popular “Safal” brand, further strengthening the company’s position in the food industry.

Mother Dairy’s new plant is expected to contribute significantly to local employment and support farmers in Gujarat by providing them with a reliable outlet for their produce. As India’s food processing sector continues to evolve, this project represents a major step forward in the country’s journey toward food security and economic growth.
