550 Kg of Adulterated Paneer Seized and Destroyed Ahead of Festive Season in Noida

In a major crackdown ahead of the festive season, the Food Safety Department in Gautam Buddh Nagar conducted surprise inspections at several dairy units and transport vehicles. During the operation, officials intercepted a pickup truck carrying approximately 550 kilograms of paneer (cottage cheese) suspected to be adulterated.

Upon inspection, the paneer was found to be unfit for human consumption due to poor quality and suspected contamination. The entire consignment was immediately destroyed on the spot to prevent it from reaching the market

Food safety officials also collected samples of the paneer for laboratory testing to confirm the level of adulteration and identify harmful substances, if any.

Authorities have intensified monitoring and inspection drives in the district, particularly targeting dairy products, sweets, and other perishable goods, as demand for such items surges during the festive period. The department has urged citizens to remain cautious while purchasing  milk and milk-based products and to report any suspicious food items to local authorities.

This action is part of the government’s ongoing efforts to curb food adulteration and ensure the availability of safe, high-quality food during the festive season.
