Overview

Main purpose:

Getting NEW INITIATIVES ‘First time Right’ while building pipeline for growth for the Foods and beverages business.

This role leads the operational technical commercialization of new product and product manufacturing lines introduction to Foods and Beverage for delivering the innovation & capacity growth agenda to support business growth of India BU. This role is also responsible in ensuring quality and food safety standards are maintained in the roll-out of new products for qualifying lines new processes and new technologies ensuring that new products are commercialized successfully. It is a key role to deliver the growth agenda by ensuring that capability is developed and sustainable in the site.

This role has full decision-making authority on areas or issues ensuring new products or processes are safe, stable and legal. It interfaces with several stakeholders within the business to drive, verify and ensure compliance to this measure.

Responsibilities:
Accountabilities:

Lead the operational technical commercialization of new product introductions for Foods & Beverages within India BU ensuring on time and within budget execution of new product commercialization

Responsible for ensuring quality standards are maintained in the roll-out of new products for qualifying new lines, new processes, new technologies, ensuring new products are commercialized successfully and are safe, stable and legal

Ensure technical assessments are done and gaps identified before commercializing new products and processes in beverage plants

Lead quality sustainment and validation efforts relative to new product introductions.

Lead troubleshooting and SME support efforts ensuring that issues are handled appropriately and in a timely manner.

BU Supply Chain lead contact on commercialization and interface with cross functional teams – R&D, Innovation, Category, Operations and Franchise

Building a strong foundation based on ‘Setting the Agenda’ and proactively raising and recommending / solving for ‘Operational Issues’ that the Business may face towards commercialization of NPD’s.

Partner with the Documentation Manager towards standardizing SOPs, Documents, and HACCP transfer documents etc. during the initial stages of the new process being commercialized for new innovations.

Commercialization Process Harmonization with the sector.

Conducting training of shop floor personnel to ensure complete ownership with right skill set required for the new product launch production & future runs.

Qualifications:

EXPERIENCE/COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:

At least a bachelor’s degree in science or engineering with a strong understanding of Foods & Beverage manufacturing

Functional Experience: Approx. 5 – 7 years of experience and proven track record managing food safety within food manufacturing operations

Competencies Required:

Sound knowledge for foods & beverage manufacturing process and quality management

Ability to work effectively and efficiently with teams

Ability to manage multiple stake holders (internal and external) and multitasking
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written

Ability to work effectively and manage risk in a fast-paced environment with ambiguity and change

Proven ability to align and communicate across functional and level barriers.

Flexibility to travel is essential.
