1 Lakh Fake ENO and 50K Nescafé Coffee Sachets Seized in Delhi Illegal Factory Raid

In a major  food safety crackdown, the Delhi Police Crime Branch has busted a large-scale racket involved in the manufacturing and distribution of counterfeit ENO sachets and fake Nescafé coffee packets in the national capital

🔍 Raid & Seizure Details

Acting on intelligence inputs, police conducted a raid in the Madhu Vihar area of Delhi, uncovering two illegal manufacturing units. These units were actively producing fake food products that closely resembled popular brands.

Authorities seized goods worth approximately ₹20 lakh, including:

Nearly 1 lakh fake ENO sachets

Around 50,000 counterfeit coffee packets

About 500 kg of coffee powder

Three packing machines
Drums filled with acid and harmful substances
Packaging rolls, stickers, and cartons

⚠️ Serious Health Risk

Officials revealed that the accused were using substandard and potentially harmful materials, raising serious concerns about consumer health and safety. The counterfeit products were designed to look identical to genuine brands, making it difficult for consumers to detect the difference.

📈 Rising Food Adulteration Concerns

This incident comes shortly after another alarming case in Hapur, Uttar Pradesh, where authorities busted an illegal unit producing toxic tomato sauce using acids, rotten materials, and banned synthetic colours.
